Cloud ERP Reviews: How to Review a Cloud ERP Before You Buy (2026)

Cloud ERP reviews are a starting point, not a verdict. Star ratings rarely tell you whether a system will run your stock, sales and books. Review it yourself with the five-point scorecard below and a trial on your own data. For retail and POS-led SMBs, our recommendation is EloERP.
Below: how to read online reviews without being misled, a scorecard you can fill in for any vendor, the questions to ask, and what to test in a trial.
How to read cloud ERP reviews without being misled
Before you trust a review, check three things:
- Who wrote it, and are they paid per referral? Many "best ERP" pages earn a commission when you sign up. That does not make them wrong, but it shapes what they recommend.
- Did the reviewer run a business on the software? A review from a business like yours (same industry, same size, same country) is worth more than a general score.
- Is it about the product or the implementation? Many complaints are really about a consultant or a rushed rollout. Ask who set the system up.
Then stop reading and start testing. The most reliable cloud ERP review is the one you write after a week of using the system with your own products.
A five-point scorecard to review any cloud ERP
Score each system from 1 to 5 on each line, based on what you saw in a demo or trial, not on what the brochure says:
| Criterion | How to test it | Red flag |
|---|---|---|
| Feature depth | Run your hardest workflow end to end: stock, sale, return, month-end | "That is on the roadmap" or "a partner can build that" |
| Industry fit | Use your real products, units and pricing rules | Workarounds needed for everyday tasks |
| Ease of use | Let a cashier or storekeeper try it with ten minutes of training | Staff need a consultant for routine changes |
| Value for money | Total three years: subscription, add-ons, setup, training | No written answer on what growth will cost |
| Support | Raise a real question during the trial and time the answer | No clear answer on who supports you after go-live, or in which hours |
Questions to ask before you buy a cloud ERP
- What exactly is in the plan you are quoting, and what is an add-on?
- How does the price change when we add users, branches or modules?
- How does the system handle tax e-invoicing in our country, and who maintains that connection?
- Can we import products, customers, suppliers and opening stock ourselves?
- What happens at the counter when the internet goes down?
- Can we export all our data if we leave?
What to test in a cloud ERP trial
- Import a real slice of your catalogue and opening stock.
- Buy, receive, sell (at the POS and on credit) and process a return.
- Check that stock, the customer balance and the general ledger all updated at once.
- Set up a second branch or warehouse and move stock between them.
- Run the reports your accountant and you actually use: P&L, stock valuation and receivables ageing.
How EloERP measures up on the five points
We will not give our own product a star rating. Here is what each point looks like in EloERP, so you can score it yourself in the trial:
- Feature depth: POS, inventory, sales, purchasing and double-entry accounting in one database, plus CRM. HR & Payroll, Manufacturing/Production and Project Management are add-ons.
- Industry fit: choose your industry and the recommended features switch on: retail and restaurant POS modes, kitchen order tickets, batch and expiry, IMEI and serial tracking, and installment sales.
- Ease of use: runs in the browser with nothing to install. Products, customers, suppliers and opening stock import from CSV or Excel. The interface is available in ten languages, including Arabic.
- Value for money: pricing is on request, billed yearly (monthly on request), with add-ons priced separately. Ask us for a written quote and compare it over three years.
- Working through outages and tax rules: the offline POS keeps selling without internet and syncs when the connection returns. EloERP integrates with FBR digital invoicing through PRAL, PRA, ZATCA Phase 2, MyInvois and UAE e-invoicing.
Why we recommend EloERP for SMBs
If you are a retailer, pharmacy, restaurant, distributor or multi-branch business that wants POS and back office in one system, EloERP is the cloud ERP we recommend. It is built so that every sale updates stock, the ledger and the dashboards at the same moment. Do not take our word for it: run the scorecard above on EloERP and on anything else you are considering.
